What are the objectives of The Finance Book?
The Finance Book was established in 2005 to provide a comprehensive database of UK commercial finance lenders. The personal finance sector has been well served for many years from both published and online databases but prior to our launch there has never been a reliable and comprehensive source of information for those seeking commercial finance.
The printed version of The Finance Book was launched in 2005 and has been published annually since covering property, invoice and asset finance. The online and fully searchable version was launched in 2009.
Who is the service aimed at?
Anyone searching for a new source of commercial finance. Our database comprises of over 250 lenders covering all categories of commercial finance and our database is continuously being updated.
The majority of our users are professional advisers whose clients are seeking commercial finance e.g. brokers, accountants and lawyers. However increasingly our site is being visited by Finance Directors and owners of businesses who are trying to find new sources of funding.
How is the information compiled?
The information is supplied by the lenders themselves and they are able to update their data direct to the website whenever changes are made to their criteria.
How does the Finance Search work?
Once you have registered, you will be able to use the Finance Search facility. By providing some key details of the finance you are seeking, The Finance Book will produce a list of lenders that meet your search criteria. The more information you can supply at the first stage, the more accurate the short list will be.
Once the list is produced you can click on any of the lenders detailed and this will provide you with further information and contact details about a specific lender.
Why do some lenders provide more information than others?
To maintain the integrity of our database, we include all known lenders. The only exception to this is when lenders specifically ask us to exclude their details (this may happen, for example, when a lender temporarily withdraws from a sector). All lenders have the option of including more detailed information about their products and services and we continuously encourage them to do this in order to make the site more useful to our users.
What is the difference between Finance Search and Finance Post ?
Finance Search will provide a list of potential lenders based upon the search criteria entered. Finance Post enables more detailed information about a specific proposal to be placed on the site and this can be viewed by lenders who can respond to the user directly if the deal is of potential interest. Confidential information is not included in the posting.
We are a lending institution whose details are not included in the current database – how do we arrange for these to be included?
We would be pleased to add your details to our database. Please contact us to discuss your products and services.
